When going to the salon is simply not an option these days, it’s time to master doing your own manicure at home. Here’s a simple guide that you can follow to give yourself a manicure using Vega Manicure tools.
What all you require:
- Nail enamel remover
- Vega Nail clipper (LNC-05)
- Vega cotton pads (CP-01)
- Vega nail file (NFL-02)
- Vega Cuticle trimmer and pusher (CTP-01)
- Cuticle cream
- Hand moisturizer
- A base coat for the nails
- Your choice of nail colour
Once you have all the essential tools at place, follow the process mentioned step by step:
Step 1: Remove your nail colour:
Use cotton pads and nail enamel remover to remove your old nail colour gently. It is advised to use non-acetone nail enamel removers as they do not dry out the skin around your nails.
Step 2: Clip and File
Use Vega nail clipper to trim your nails followed by Vega nail file to shape, even out rough edges. If you want to keep it simple, you can go for square-shaped nails with rounded edges or simple rounded nails.
Step 3: Soak your nails in warm water
This is the most relaxing step of the process. Take a bowl filled with warm water and add either a small amount of baby shampoo or a mild cleanser to it. Soak your hands in the water. Make sure you don’t over-soak them. 3 minutes is an ideal time. It loosens up the dirt and dead skin cells.
Step 4: Prepare the cuticles
Wipe your nails and hands properly. Massage your nails using cuticle cream. Use a Vega cuticle trimmer and pusher. The angled end pushes back the cuticles and the metal V end gently trims the dead cuticles around the nails. Make sure to not exert too much pressure as this may push the cuticles too far resulting in damaging your nails.
Step 5: Pamper your hands using hand cream
Massage your hands with a hand cream for a deep moisturization. Focus more on your fingers and the areas around your nails.
Step 6: Finish with a nail colour of your choice
Paint vertical stripes, starting from the base of your nail moving towards the tip. Before applying another coat, let the it dry.
Few points to keep in mind while doing manicure:
- Avoid cutting your nails if they are already short. You can just file them.
- Do not cut the cuticles completely. Just push them back.
- Do not file your nails in a to and fro motion. Always file in one direction
- Before applying nail enamel, make sure that your nails are free of any traces of moisturizer or water.
